A Low E glass is a type of glass that is designed for the improvement of thermal induction. The glass in enhanced with a metallic oxide coating that is transparent and serves the purpose of a thermal gateway.  This metallic oxide coating operates by reflecting long wave radiation selectively that is the same as that of internal sources of heat.  The glass ensures that short wave energy like that one of the sun is able to pass through into the room but the heating that is available indoor is not able to escape outside. A double glazed window consists of two glass panes that are separated by an inner frame. That frame is called a space bar. The space bar is in most cases made of aluminum. However, since it is a metal, heat is conducted and lost between the two glass panes at the contact of the space bar. The space bar acts as a thermal bridge between the two glass panes in that, the cool temperatures outside are transmitted to the inner pane across the space bar while the room heat is also transferred to the outer glass pane. The effect of the space bar can be solved with a space bar that is made of a material that is a low thermal conductor. One of the ideal materials that can be used here is a glass fiber composite. This can help in improving the energy efficiency of the window by almost 10%.
